The Stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage. Download speeds may be less than the line rates indicated and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT’s network, Total Web Solutions’ networks and within customer premises. Wireless speeds maybe considerably lower than the above stated rates depending on your network hardware and the environment in which the equipment sits.
Fault Reporting
If a fault is reported on a broadband circuit it may be necessary to arrange an engineering appointment for a BT/Openreach engineer to visit the customer site to check and fix problems. Total Web Solutions will charge £49 + VAT for arranging and co-ordinating the visit with BT/Openreach, irrespective of the outcome.
If an engineering appointment is requested and the engineer finds that the faults are within the customer network or equipment or that there is no fault, then the visit will be chargeable at a minimum charge of £160 + VAT (this excludes the appointment fee and any fee for wiring or equipment that might be required in order to fix the problem).
Unless Total Web Solutions confirms it, no engineer visit to the premises should be authorised by the occupants (allowing an engineer access when an appointment has not been scheduled could lead to charges)
In Service Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your connection at any point there will be a service cancellation charge applied to your account as follows:
FttC/FttP = £99.00+VAT (in first 12 months) £49.00+VAT (thereafter)Leased Line/EFM = See quote/contract or contact the Sales team
Broadband Features
With Internet content now demanding more and more bandwidth we are able to offer businesses speeds of upto 1 Gbit/sec download and upto 115 Mbits/sec upload. This provides a small to medium office with reliable connectivity at a very competitive price. Our Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) service now offers improved reliability and flexibility to grow your bandwidth needs as new fibre speeds become available. We also offer a range of FTTP packages to suit your business needs and size of operation. We are able to deliver to over 5 million locations around the country and supporting a host of different services offerings. The service is very reliable but for those that want extra peace of mind there are additional support packages to ensure maximum uptime of your service.
As your business needs grow you can upgrade your connectivity to a more suitable speed and service contract. We also have routers that support many services including Voice Over IP (VOIP) for running your phone calls over the Internet. By converging your technologies over your high speed bandwidth you can not only save money but also reduce the complexity and maintenance of your existing systems. By deploying your broadband connectivity over high speed fibre your will be future proofing your long term bandwidth needs. Fibre transmits data at the speed of light with little to no loss of data making it very reliable. There are no limitations as to the bandwidth that could be utilized down a fibre cable thus providing expansion capability to your broadband connection as speeds increase. In fact you are limited only by the hardware (router) you utilise to connect to our network which is increasing its bandwidth capability on a regular basis.
Frequently asked questions
Broadband that uses fibre optic cables instead of the traditional copper lines providing a service that is more robust and offers greater speeds than conventional copper.
Fibre to the premises (FTTP), also known as full fibre broadband, involves laying fibre optic cables directly from the broadband exchange right into your business or home. It can offer speeds of up to 1Gb (1000mbps) – around 30 times faster than standard fibre broadband.
Broadband services are charged monthly with a minimum 12 month contract and a monthly rolling contract thereafter. It is possible to arrange an annual payment in advance securing the price for that period.
We will do everything for you, just provide us with your address details and we will do the rest. A pre configured router will be delivered to you before the day of the install (chargeable) or you can use your own approved router and we will provide configuration details.
Unlike earlier versions of broadband provision FTTP broadband is not diminished by distance from the exchange or cabinet.
Unless your premises has previously been connected to full fibre broadband, an engineer visit will be required which we will arrange for you. Fibre connectivity requires both external and internal work to be completed. First, engineers will physically link your premises to the network by connecting a line to an external box then a small hole will be drilled through the wall to connect the fibre optic cable to a box inside your premises.
Your FTTP broadband service will be activated on the day of the install, there is no need to wait for a separate activation date.
A dedicated phone line is not required for FTTP which is installed as a stand alone service. A voice over IP service may be added on top of fibre broadband to enable calls to be made as a separate service, please contact Sales for details.
If the move is within the initial 12 month contract period you will still be required to pay for the remaining portion of your contract. Outside of the initial contract window you will be able to cancel your FTTP broadband service (giving 30 days notice) and then install a new FTTP broadband service at another premises. Broadband cease charges are applicable as detailed on our website.
